DaVita Clinical Research Celebrates Lead Researchers
May 20 Recognizes Professionals Conducting Clinical Trials
MINNEAPOLIS (May 20, 2015) – DaVita Clinical Research (DCR), a specialty contract research organization with services spanning a broad spectrum of drug and device development, today recognizes the principal investigators who help enhance the future of medicine through clinical trials.
For 30 years, DCR has worked with physicians and other health care professionals – referred to as principal investigators (PI) – to successfully enroll and manage clinical trials. PIs are responsible for overseeing research protocols for the duration of a clinical trial. DCR works with a large network of more than 150 PIs in many therapeutic areas across the U.S. and is also expanding internationally. DCR’s Investigator Appreciation Day will coincide with International Clinical Trials Day, also celebrated on May 20.
The related social media campaign will give the public a chance to share why they are grateful for those who conduct research by creating a space to post appreciation messages via Instagram using the hashtag #ISupportResearch. Individuals who want to participate can download the “thank you” sign at DaVitaClinicalResearch.com/ResearchMatters.
“We’re incredibly appreciative for our principal investigators,” said Amy Young, general manager for DCR. “We want to honor them for their work and the contributions they make to advance the practice of medicine.”
DCR continues to expand its capabilities across the spectrum of drug and device development, in early- and late-phase clinical trials, health economics and outcome research, real-world health care data, and medical communications. In addition to its clinical pharmacology unit (CPU) in Minneapolis, Minnesota, DCR has a second CPU in Lakewood, Colorado, as well as a network of affiliated investigator physicians in four U.S. states through its HealthCare Partners clinical research arm.
